Synopsis:
My proposal envisions an alternative future timeline for Puerto Rico centered on this emblematic character. Through a speculative exhibition/installation, I will construct a fictional yet grounded future in which the jíbaro persists, adapts, and evolves. The project will not glorify survival under adversity, but instead celebrate the intelligence, labor, and cultural agency embedded in this way of life.
